Over the period 2013 to 2020, the Climate Cent Foundation’s financial support made it possible to hand over to the Swiss Confederation around 20 million certificates yielded by projects registered with the UN. Each certificate stands for the verified reduction of one tonne of CO₂ equivalent. The certificates were used by the Swiss Confederation to meet its international climate protection commitment under the Kyoto Protocol for the years 2013 to 2020. With its activities, the Climate Cent Foundation provided around a third of the emission reductions required to meet Switzerland’s Kyoto pledge in the second commitment period (2013-2020).
In its second final report, the Climate Cent Foundation looks back on its activities for the period 1 January 2014 to 30 June 2022 and details how it fulfilled its obligations vis-à-vis the Swiss Confederation.
