Tissot

Project

Energy renovation of industrial premises.

Project owner

Tissot SA

Initial situation

Tissot SA's building is one of 27 industrial premises renovated in 2007 under the auspices of the Buildings Programme. The building had last been renovated in 1931, which explains its high annual energy consumption prior to renovation: 630 MJ, or around 18 litres of fuel oil per m2 of energy reference area.

Due to Klimarappen

The building's owners decided to renovate with a view to improving energy efficiency. The roof, with a surface of 572 m2, was insulated to a U-value of 0.23 W/m2K. Furthermore, 213 m2 of windows with a U-value of 1.1 W/m2K were installed. Both renovations were supported by the Foundation with a contribution of 20 CHF/m2 of construction element.

Savings

With this measure, Tissot SA reduces 50 tonnes of CO2 emissions over the period 2007 to 2012.

Investments

The renovation cost around 365’000 Swiss Francs and will allow annual savings of 4’600 m3 of natural gas, resp. 3’700 Swiss Francs in heating costs.
