Renovation of an apartment building with a total of 27 residential units.

Initial situation
"Aare-Park 1", built in 1965, is one of the first projects submitted to the Buildings Programme. Prior to renovation, fuel oil consumption was over 35'000 litres for an energy reference area of 1800 m2.
Due to Klimarappen
Thanks to the Foundation's contribution, a total of 839 m2 of façade were insulated to a U-value of 0.2 W/m2K. The SIA standard only requires a value of 0.3 W/m2K. Furthermore, 266 m2 of windows, also outperforming the SIA standard, were installed. Thanks to improved thermal insulation, the building's fuel oil consumption will decrease by 25%, reducing CO2 emissions by a yearly 20 tonnes.
Savings
Annual CO2 emissions are reduced by 20 tonnes. Heating costs are lowered by 6'000 Swiss Francs a year. The Foundation's contribution amounts to 26'500 Swiss Francs.
Investments
Investment costs for the renovation amount to almost 250'000 Swiss Francs.
