A trader sells on previously acquired certificates generated by climate protection projects, thus also carrying the delivery risk. In this secondary market, the Foundation has concluded purchase agreements with the companies Barclays, Bunge, Shell, Ecosecurities, SwissRe, Fortis, Mercuria and Vitol.

Status
Overall, the Foundation has contracted 7.6 million CERs generated by projects procured by traders. Of these, 4 million CERs have already been transferred to the Foundation’s account in the National Emissions Trading Registry.
